Spring, Summer Constellations

POTSDAM: Spring & Summer Constellations, free planetarium show, shows are held every Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m., in the Dr. Frank A. Revetta Planetarium, located in the basement of Stowell Hall; each show lasts about 45 minutes, and guests of all ages are welcome; attendees are encouraged to arrive early, because once the show begins, the door is locked; no food or drink are allowed in the planetarium, and as darkness is required, cell phones cannot be used during the show; free parking is available in Lot 6, near Kellas Hall.

Family book club

OGDENSBURG: “A Bear Called Paddington” by Michael Bond; tea activity to go with book; 5 p.m; see library’s website for more info; 315-393-4325; Washington St.

SLU Writers Series

CANTON: St. Lawrence University’s annual Writers Series will continue its 2019-20 season with author Kali Fajardo-Anstine, 8 p.m., Sykes Common Room; free and open to the public; Fajardo-Anstine’s debut short story collection, “Sabrina & Corina,” was published in April of 2019 from One World/Random House; a historical novel will soon follow.

Curriculum Night

MADRID: Madrid-Waddington Central School District Title 1 Curriculum Night and Open House, 6-7:30 p.m.

Canton board meets

CANTON: Town of Canton board to meet for a budget working session, 6 p.m., Municipal Building, 60 Main St.; open to the public.

Metaphysical, Psychic Fair

MASSENA: Metaphysical & Psychic Fair, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., St. Lawrence Centre mall, 6100 Saint Lawrence; tarot, psychic, palm, runes, reiki, yoga, and workshops as well as artwork, crystals, aromatherapy, CBD oil, wrapped jewelry, and more; free to get in, but donations accepted for Renewal House.

Alexander String Quartet

CANTON: Alexander String Quartet, 8 p.m., Gulick Theatre, St. Lawrence University; free admission, open to the public.

Caamano and Akins

CANTON: Jazz classics with Just the Two of Us, Victor Caamano on guitar and Jim Akins, saxophone, 7-9 p.m., Buccaneer Lounge, 4 W. Main St.; no cover, but donations collected for musicians.
