POTSDAM — Potsdam Summerfest is underway and Market Street, Fall Island, Ives Park, Pine Street Arena and the rest of downtown will be bustling with visitors taking in the sounds of live music, the smell of festival food, and dozens of events, activities and vendor sales that are part of the annual event.

While things kick off with the Tour de Potsdam 5K and live music downtown Thursday, the main festival gets moving Friday with bounce houses, BBQ, beer and the Fall Island Fiesta Kid’s event.

The event, organized by the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce, will feature something for everyone, says Chamber Director Megan Mulvenna.

“I encourage everyone to stop into Potsdam to feel the downtown vibe during the festival,” said Mulvenna. “From live music, to vendors, to restaurants and food trucks there truly is something for everyone. We have our favorite events returning this year and we are mixing in some new and exciting features that you have to stop on down to see. ”
