Massena marks Neighborhood Watch National Night Out Tuesday

MASSENA – Massena Neighborhood Watch is hosting National Night Out Tuesday, Aug. 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. in Veterans Memorial Park, Andrews Street.

Free hot dogs, chips and bottled water will be provided courtesy of Massena Permanent Fire Fighters and Massena Police Protective Association, and games for the kids.

Massena Volunteer Fire Department members will cook the hot dogs.

There will be informational booths, emergency equipment on display and demonstrations, including:

• Mason’s – Safety ID Program: Photograph & fingerprint children to aid in the safe recovery of a lost or missing child, student or adult

• Massena Rescue Squad

• Massena Fire Department

• Massena Police Department

• Neighborhood Watch Program

• Massena Police K-9 Demonstration

• Seaway Communications – Home protection

• Unity March at 7 p.m.: Andrews Street to Main Street to West Orvis Street to Veterans Park

• Unity Light Up The Night: turn on your porch light at 9 p.m. and keep it on all night

• Kids games & Bounce House & Coloring Contest

• Music provided by The Fox 101.5 and Martz Communication

• Speakers: St. Lawrence County Sheriff Kevin Wells, Massena Police Chief Tim Currier, Mayor James Hidy, Supervisor Joe Gray, Sandy Cook, Neighborhood Watch Coordinator.
