CANTON – A dramatic performance of Washington Irving’s classic story, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” by master storyteller Jonathan Kruk will be held Thursday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 3 ½ E. Main St.
The family friendly event is hosted by the St. Lawrence County Historical Association.
The storytelling will be free and open to the public with “pass the hat” donations accepted.
Audiences have been entranced by Kruk’s ability to embody Irving’s iconic characters and receive chills from an accompanying pipe organ played by Jim Keyes, said a press release from SLCHA.
Jonathan Kruk has been a professional storyteller since 1989 and he now presents over two-hundred performances annually.
He has also appeared on CBS Sunday Morning, ABC Good Morning America, the National Geographic Channel, and others. His performances have been described as thrilling, intrepid, and spellbinding by the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and
Broadway World. The Hudson Valley Magazine even named Kruk, “Best Storyteller in the Hudson Valley.”
Parking is available behind the St. Lawrence County Historical Association.
Enter next to the museum, at the Unitarian Church’s rear entrance.
