CANTON – The Green Living Fair will be held once again on Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., this time rotating to St. Lawrence’s University’s Leithead Fieldhouse on Park Street, Canton.

Information on electric vehicles, a tree planting, a live feed from SAM (Science, Art, Music) Fest, a "Power House" (mini-house showcasing energy efficiency) and more will be featured.

The event is free and open to the public and shares workshops, exhibitors, and displays. The goal is to help everyone save money, create jobs and contribute to our local economy by sharing ways to reduce emissions and adapt to climate change.

The Fair is being held in partnership with Sustainability Day, a project of the Associated Colleges, which will feature a keynote speaker, reception, workshops, book signing and a play; all to be held the day before the Fair, on Friday, April 22 from 1 to 10 p.m.

Keynote speaker Robin Wall Kimmerer is a mother, scientist, and award-winning author. She is a decorated professor and enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, a federally recognized, traditionally Algonquian-speaking Eastern Woodlands tribe.

The two-day event will showcase ideas, tools, and services that community members, municipalities, educational institutions and local businesses can use when working together for a sustainable future.

Sustainability Day & the Green Living Fair are coordinated each year by the North Country Partnership for Environmental Action, Community and Sustainability (NoCoPEACS), constituting over a dozen local schools, organizations and business sponsors.
