WADDINGTON — The Gallery at Lake Saint Lawrence Arts is exhibiting the art of Steven Cobb at a reception on June 18 from 5-7 p.m. at 10 Main St.

This show is the second of the summer season for the Gallery and represents “Junctions” in the life of the artist, said a press release from the Gallery.

The show will run from June 18 to July 30.

Cobb was born, raised, and has lived in the North Country all his life.

Primarily self taught, he received accelerated and concentrated instruction from Michael V. Lynne in his early years, and studied briefly at SUNY New Paltz.

Although he painted occasionally, he returned fully to his art, as he vowed he would, when he could finally devote all his time and energy to it. Cobb now continues his learning through various courses and a strong desire to learn new techniques.

The artist paints mostly in acrylics and oils, and creates works that deal with his admiration of nature and the outdoors. The nearby countryside, rivers and mountains of New York's Adirondack Park provide much of his inspiration, a press release from The Gallery said.

Cobb’s work has been exhibited throughout New York and Vermont, and has won numerous local awards. He is an active member in the local art community, and belongs to various art organizations in and around the area.
Cobb currently lives and works out of his Quiet Raquette Studio at 4 Woodland Drive in Raymondville.
