CANTON – Voting is underway for the best holiday storefront among Canton Chamber of Commerce business members.
The chamber has launched a new holiday storefront contest. Members of the public can vote for their favorite at https://tinyurl.com/yx88a9kuBarkleys.
“I am excited about our Holiday Storefront contest and pleased with all the participation,” said Tammy Mackin, Canton Chamber executive director. “This is a new event that all Canton merchants/businesses are invited and encouraged to participate in. You do not have to be a member to participate”
“This event was created to entice people to come to our quaint little village to eat, shop or conduct business all while enjoy the beautiful festive scenery,” Mackin said.
“My recent check of voting was over 150 votes,” the director said.
“Coupled with encouraging shopping local one of my goals is to bring people to our website in hopes they will see all the town and village of Canton offers for future visits! Winner will receive bragging rights. (I hope to eventually have a trophy to pass each year ),” Mackin said.

Buster's Café, Canton Optical, Cappello & Linden, Celtic Knot, Church and Community program-Thrift store, Classy Collectibles, Coakleys, Community Bank, Glow Skin Care and Spa, Grasse River Outfitters, Gray and Gray, Hair Designs, Jreck subs
Kinney Drugs, Little Italy, Luna, Mountain Mart, Nature's Storehouse, NBT Bank, North Country Savings, Nola's, One group Insurance, Pear Tree, Planned Parenthood, Price Chopper, Rex Hardware, Riverside Liquor, Save-A-Lot, Sea Comm, Shandelle & Co.
Sunoco, TAUNY, The Bagelry, Triple A Building Center, Walgreens, Witherbee & Whalen Inc. and Ye Olde Liquors.
“By promoting our local merchants to decorate our town with creative holiday store fronts, we hope to encourage shopping local and entice people into our fabulous businesses we have here in Canton,” said the chamber’s Facebook page.
All store fronts will be on display until Dec. 25.
