OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Bridge & Port Authority recently signed several new rental agreements with a variety of Canadian and US entities that are creating new jobs in Ogdensburg.

The OBPA signed an office rental agreement with Nova Networks, an Ottawa, Ontario-based IT company, and as separate office-rental agreement with the State University of New York for SUNY’s computer system administration.

It is anticipated that several new employees will be working in these two operations, according to the authority.

“These are excellent new tenants in our Bridge Administration Building and Commerce Park,” OBPA Executive Director Wade Davis said. “These new businesses demonstrate how important the Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge is to the North Country. It provides a vital transportation linkage for both Canadian and US firms.”

In addition, the OBPA recently entered into a separate office rental agreement with Mack Global Engineering, Brockville, Ontario. Mack Global is an engineering and technology company with employees in the US, Canada and abroad. This company will be leasing space in the OBPA’s Bridge Administration Building, and projects to hire several new employees.

The Authority also recently signed a new rental agreement with Knudsen Systems. This company designs and manufacturers sonar echosounders for vessels, including the US and Canadian military. In addition, the Authority recently renewed a new rental agreement with Day Automation, which is headquartered in Victor. This company has added 3 or 4 employees that specialize in control and security systems for buildings.

The OBPA also recently recruited and leased space to Artik/OEM, a manufacturer of component parts for the transportation sector. That company projects to employ 20 people by the end of 2019.

Oversight of the Ogdensburg Bridge & Port Authority is provided through the work and efforts of the Authority’s Board of Directors including: Chairman Vernon “Sam” Burns, Megan Whitton, Christopher Coffin, David King, Joseph Andriano and Sheila Peo, and the Authority’s Executive Director Wade A. Davis. The Authority’s mission is to manage regional infrastructure while working with the private sector to create jobs and investment.
