CANTON -- St. Lawrence University’s Arts Collaborative will welcome New York City-based performer, Yokko, on Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. to showcase her award-winning production, “Butoh Medea” in the Edison R. Miles Black Box Theatre in the Griffith Arts Center.
Yokko is a movement and Butoh artist and actress originally from Nagoya, Japan.
"Butoh Medea" was performed at United Solo Europe in Warsaw, Poland and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2015.
Yokko tells the story of Medea in “Butoh Medea” by utilizing Butoh ,the contemporary Japanese dance form and classical Greek tragedy.
