Family race day

HAMMOND: Family Race Day, 1-5 p.m., Bella Brooke Winery, 2989 County Route 6; benefitting Sharp 12s Racing; children and adults can get their picture in the driver’s seat of race car; live music by J&D Band, raffles, corn hole, Bud’s Grub & Cash Bar, kid’s games.

Louisville Summer Bash

LOUISVILLE: Annual Louisville Summer Bash, in conjunction with the 123rd NNY Firemen’s Convention; church service at 9:15 a.m. at the Louisville Community Church. The community picnic will be at noon and the NNY Lawnmower’s Association Races will be held at 3. Admission is free; proceeds from Summer Bash benefit the Bash committee, Louisville Boy Scouts, Helping Hands, Lions Club, local vendors and the Massena Rod and Gun Club.

Spring photography walk

MASSENA: Join a walk with nature photography club to take spring photos; you do not have to be a club member to join walk; 10-11:30 a.m; Nicandri Nature Center, 19 Robinson Bay Rd.

NASCAR event

DEKALB JUNCTION: NASCAR events,1 p.m., DeKalb Junction Amvets Post 11; public invited.

Insect Hunt

MASSENA: Join nature center staff on a walk to find insects; free; 2-3 p.m; Nicandri Nature Center, 19 Robinson Bay Rd.

Pollinator planting

POTSDAM: Help landscape a wildflower garden plot at the SUNY Potsdam's Child Care Center and learn different techniques for planting a pollinator garden; Wildflower Pollinator Planting Workshop is a hands-on event and is free and open to the public with coordination by the WISER Center and the Local Living Venture; each participant will have the opportunity to bring home a packet of wildflower seeds in order to plant their own pollinator garden at home; SUNY Potsdam Childcare Center is located at 185 Outer Main St.; registration is not required, but appreciated at LocalLivingVenture@gmail.com.
