CANTON: Root cellar nourishment class, 3 p.m., Flying Lotus Yoga Center & Juice Bar; Why juice? What do beets have that I need? Why should I eat kale? What's the difference between locally-grown fruits and fruit from across the country? Organic vs. conventional? If you have ever asked these questions or questions like these this event is for you; local foodie, functional medicine RN, Paula Youmell will answer questions about food, nutrition, and healing our bodies with food; sample a variety of juices, from simple celery juice to the recipes from menu board; $20 per person; root cellar juice bar will be open for purchases during and after the event; limit of 15 people for this event; RSVP and drop off your payment at the juice bar at 81 Main St.

CANTON: “Dixie” Dave Ellis will facilitate the next North Country Civil War Round Table, which will be in a "Show & Tell” format, 2 p.m., St. Lawrence County Historical Association (SLCHA), 3 E. Main St.; all community members are welcome to bring any Civil War-related items to share, tell the group stories, and have an opportunity to ask questions of those well-versed on the topic; free and open to the public; refreshments served.
