COLTON – Ten volunteers from SUNY Canton’s Outdoors Adventures Club worked with the Laurentian Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain to maintain Stone Valley’s Southeastern River Trail on Saturday, Oct. 7.
Trail work included rebuilding a 60-foot timber bridge close to Colton falls, improving the trail tread, removing deadfall, and marking the entire length of the 3.5 mile trail to the Northeastern trailhead in Parishville.
The chapter is seeking volunteers to assist Tom Ortemeyer who is leading the trail marking project in Stone Valley to complete the West River trail within the next few weeks.
