OGDENSBURG — The Seaway Festival Wine, Beer, Food and Artisan Festival is the first sponsored event held at the recently completed Ogdensburg International Airport Great Room.
The craft fair was held in the multi-purpose community room Saturday, February 28.
About 1,300 people from around the state attended the event, said organizer Chris Lalonde.
“I’m more than pleased with the turnout at the festival,” said Lalonde.
Local restaurant owners reported being very busy from the craft fair visitors, Lalonde added.
The 55 vendors who participated sold a variety of products, from wine, lemonade, baked goods, and local apples and honey, to homemade crafts.
Proceeds from the craft fair benefit the annual Seaway International Festival held each summer.
Attendees at the craft fair were able to get an up-close view of a Breeze Airway jet unloading passengers right outside the glass walls of the Great Room. They also flocked to the window to see the jet later take off.
“The Great Room is a great event space, suitable for multiple uses,” said Airport Manager Charlie Garrelt.
A tourism dinner, career fair, baby showers, birthday and Christmas parties are already booked this year, said Garrett.
