Student from Massena Central presented Cuthbert Vocational Excellence Award

NORWOOD – Luc Eddy, a student from the Massena Central School District, was recently presented the Rev. William R. & Crystal E. Cuthbert Vocational Excellence Award for May; sponsored by Brookfield Renewable US. Luc is in the Electrical Technologies Program at The Seaway Career & Technical Education Center. He is the child of Brian and Jacqueline Eddy.
Students in the two-year Electrical Technologies Program will learn the principles of electricity, reading blueprints and wiring diagrams; proper use of tools and equipment; basic principles of motor controls with ladder logic and emerging renewable technologies such as wind and solar power.
Upon completion of the program, students will be able to do basic residential wiring and installation of devices and various lighting fixtures; installation of basic residential service entrances; installation of metal boxes, electrical tubing, flexible metal cable and devices for various basic commercial settings.

The instructor, Mr. Shane Jenkinson, has said the following about his student: “Luc is an energetic and knowledgeable student with a construction background. He works hard and wants to complete each project to the best of his abilities. He is involved in soccer and baseball at Massena Central School. His life passion is hunting and fishing with his family locally and beyond. Luc’s future plans are to attend the Southeast Linemen Training Center in Georgia. He then plans on working through his on the job training and becoming a Journeyman Lineman”.
