Zachary Strawser, a 2023 graduate from St. Lawrence Central School in Brasher Falls, has earned an Invest in Success Scholarship at Syracuse University for academic excellence.
Strawser is in the Air Force ROTC at Syracuse University and is majoring in aerospace engineering with a 3.896 grade point average.
This award is given after the first semester of full-time study to undergraduates who have successfully completed at least 15 credits at Syracuse University, earned a GPA of 3.75 or higher, and are in good academic standing. Winners of this scholarship are called “Success Scholars.
The benefits from this award includes:
A merit scholarship of $1,000 per year for your four years, as long as you maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and successfully complete at least 15 credits each semester. (A $500 credit to your Bursar’s account will be entered for the current term in recognition of your successful first semester.)
A special reception honoring Strawser and fellow Success Scholars will be held in February with faculty and staff, including representatives from multiple programs such as Study Abroad, Honors Program, and the Shaw Center for Public and Community Service.
