St. Lawrence Health introduces new anesthesiologist

POTSDAM — Board Certified Anesthesiologist Jennifer Stedman, MD, has joined St. Lawrence Health and will be providing services at Canton-Potsdam, Gouverneur, and Massena hospitals.

Dr. Stedman is American Board of Anesthesiology certified, and she earned her medical degree from St. George’s University, School of Medicine, Grenada, West Indies. Her residency was completed through Well-Cornell Medical College at New York Presbyterian-Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, Brooklyn.

Dr. Stedman is no stranger to the region, and said she is looking forward to working at the three hospitals within St. Lawrence Health.

“My family is from Malone and I spent my summers here in the North Country with my grandparents growing up. We all have very strong ties to the North Country and the Adirondacks,” she said.

“Being able to serve the residents of the surrounding communities is a true honor. Working for the system allows me to live in the area and care for my 96-year-old grandfather, while also being able to have a great work-life balance with all that the Adirondacks have to offer,” she said.

Dr. Stedman is a member of the American Board of Anesthesiologists, and a life-time member of the American Medical Students Association.

In her role, she works side-by-side with members of the surgical team. For information on General Surgery services provided throughout St. Lawrence Health, visit https://www.stlawrencehealthsystem.org/Services/General-Surgery.
