The average daily temperature for last December and January, combined, was 27.64 °F, recorded at the Massena airport.
It was over 4 degrees warmer than the last 10 year average for December and January.
The first half of last winter was close, with 26.3 °F average temperature for December 2022 and Jan. 2023, combined.
The past 10 year average for December and January, combined, was 23.5 °F
Over the past 25 years, this winter’s weather so far has been the third warmest. Only Dec. 2015/ Jan. 2016 with 29 °F average temperature and Dec. 2001/Jan. 2002 at 28.93 °F average temperature have been warmer.
