Sidney “Dennis” Bogart, 76, Lisbon

LISBON -- Funeral services for Sidney “Dennis” Bogart, age 76 of Lisbon will be held at 4:00pm on Monday, July 8, 2024, at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.

Burial will be at a later date at Pine Hill Cemetery on the Eel Weir Road.

Calling hours will be held also on Monday from 10:00am to 12:00pm and 2:00 to 4:00pm at the Funeral Home. Dennis passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Surviving is his wife, Lorrie; two sons, Brian (Kathy) Bogart and Richard (Jennifer) Bogart; a daughter, Jennifer (John) Walker all of Ogdensburg; grandchildren, Brandon Bogart, Makayla, Dylan & Collin Towne; Eric Anson, two great-grandchildren, Jaxxon Towne and Xavier Hatley; two brothers, Michael (Judy) Bogart of Auburn and Gordon (Jean) Bogart of Ogdensburg: two sisters, Gloria (Robert) Staie and Karen (Carl) Fifield of Ogdensburg.

Siblings, David Bogart, Nelson Bogart and Elaine Lalonde predeceased him.

Dennis was born on May 8, 1948, in Ogdensburg, a son of the late Nelson & Margaret (Denny) Bogart.

He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and entered the US Army in 1969 to 1973 when he received his honorable discharge. He was later married to Lorrie Hazelton on March 5, 1983.

Dennis began his career with Bogart & Son’s Trucking Company which he operated from 1973 to 1981. He then became a NYS Correctional Officer working at Clinton Correctional, Sing-Sing and Ogdensburg Correctional where he retired from in 2006.

Dennis enjoyed building houses, hunting, fishing, traveling and working.

He was a former member of AmVets, Odd Fellow and the Elks Club. Memorial contributions can be made to the Richard E. Winter Cancer Center.
