DEKALB -- The sheriff's office is identifying the person killed in a Wednesday house fire as Sharon L. Anderson, 77.
She was killed during a fire at 161 Old Canton Rd. that afternoon, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies.
St. Lawrence County 911 received a call reporting a structure fire with entrapment at 3:30 p.m., deputies said.
Firefighters found her dead in an upstairs bedroom, officers said.
Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene by St. Lawrence County Coroner Kevin Crosby and then transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
An autopsy is schedule to be performed and the sheriff's office along with the St. Lawrence County Fire Investigation Team are investigating the fire.
Fire departments on scene included DeKalb Fire, Richville Fire, Rensselaer Falls Fire and Rescue, Heuvelton Fire, Hermon Fire and Canton Fire and Rescue.
