SeaComm named Diamond Awards recipient

MASSENA – SeaComm Federal Credit Union is proud to be the recipient of two prestigious Diamond Awards, announced during the annual conference for the Marketing & Business Development Council of America’s Credit Unions. This year, the Diamond Award competition received a record 1,451 submissions from credit unions all over the country, with just over 10% of those submissions being honored as the top in their respective categories.   

SeaComm was recognized within two categories of the competition.  First in overall “Social Media” for credit unions with assets of $500 million to $1 billion, and second as Category’s Best “Diamond in the Rough”, for its “Plunky’s aMAZEing Race” sweepstakes. The March 2023 sweepstakes enabled SeaComm Facebook followers to solve daily puzzles, earning entries for one $500 prize.  A daily game was made available to participants requiring them to navigate through a virtual maze, helping Plunky the leprechaun, reach his pot of gold. Overall, more than 12,000 entries were received during the sweepstakes period. 

“Brought to life in 2015, the imagined character of Plunky O’Swoosh quickly became a fan favorite amongst our Facebook community,” states Chantel Johnston, SeaComm’s Senior Marketing Multimedia Specialist and Plunky creator.  “His annual appearance within our social media platform has truly allowed us to build stronger relationships with our followers, as well as serve as an avenue to interact with our fans and increase engagement,” adds Johnston. 

Plunky’s aMAZEing Race Sweepstakes was open to all SeaComm members and residents within the credit union’s charter area, which includes Northern New York State and Vermont. “We are proud to successfully connect to the community through our social media presence,” said Scott A. Wilson, SeaComm President & Chief Executive Officer. “Chantel’s technical savvy and creativity make our social media effective, fresh and best in class.”
