FORT COVINGTON — Salmon River Central School District named Kamdon Mora-Williams as the valedictorian and Grayci George as the salutatorian of the Class of 2026.

Kamdon Mora-Williams has distinguished himself as a dedicated, compassionate, and driven student. Known for his strong sense of humor and ability to bring people together, Kamdon has made a lasting impact both inside and outside the classroom. Throughout his high school career, he was actively involved in soccer, band, National Honor Society, Student Council, and Yearbook Club, where he served as president. He also served as junior class president and contributed to his community through initiatives such as Shamrockin’ at the River, the Fort Covington Food Pantry, Read Across America, and Holiday Helpers.

For Kamdon, earning the title of valedictorian represents years of hard work and perseverance. He takes pride in creating meaningful experiences that bring people together, including a project celebrating Spanish culture within the school, where he collaborated with peers and a local baker to share tres leches cake with the student body.

Kamdon plans to attend St. Lawrence University, where he has been awarded the prestigious Kirk Douglas Scholarship. He is considering majors in psychology or criminal justice while also exploring opportunities in the performing arts.

Grayci George has earned the distinction of salutatorian through her strong academic performance, independence, and commitment to her goals. She was actively involved in National Honor Society, Mohawk Youth Health Ambassadors, and Sources of Strength, where she developed skills to support both herself and others. Grayci also demonstrated leadership in athletics, serving as captain of the volleyball team during her senior year and lacrosse during her junior and senior years.

Grayci credits her success to a forward-thinking mindset and the support of her mother, Alethea, whose encouragement inspired her to continually strive for excellence. She values the kindness and support she experienced during her time at Salmon River and emphasizes the importance of staying true to oneself.

Following graduation, Grayci plans to attend McGill University to study architectural engineering, where she will explore future opportunities within the field.

Both students exemplify the values of perseverance, leadership, and service that define the Salmon River school community. Their accomplishments reflect not only academic success, but also character and a commitment to making a positive impact on others.

The district congratulates Kamdon Mora-Williams and Grayci George on their outstanding achievements and looks forward to all they will accomplish in the future.
