AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe Solid Waste Management Program announces Community Input Sessions regarding Solid Waste Management to take place on July 9,  July 10 and July 11.

The Solid Waste Management Department in collaboration is inviting the community to share their experience with waste removal services provided by SRMT.

The goal is to gather community stories that highlight the need and importance of long-term congressional appropriations for Tribal solid waste management operations. Currently there is no consistent source of Federal funding for the operation and maintenance of Tribal solid waste programs.

The benefits of sharing your story include: future program funding for community waste management, expanded access to trash and recycling services, reduced illegal dumps and improved environmental health. The first 10 participants to sign up to share their story will receive a $10 gift card.
