CANTON — A Rensselaer Falls man has been indicted on four charges stemming from an alleged June 14 incident in the town of Canton, according to the St. Lawrence County District Attorney’s Office.
Daniel Lester, 40, was indicted by a St. Lawrence County grand jury on charges of second-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree strangulation and third-degree assault.
According to the indictment, Lester is accused of intentionally causing physical injury to another person with a dangerous instrument.
He is also accused of recklessly engaging in conduct that created a grave risk of death to another person under circumstances showing a depraved indifference to human life.
The indictment further alleges that Lester applied pressure to another person’s throat or neck with the intent to impede normal breathing or blood circulation, causing stupor, loss of consciousness or other physical injury or impairment.
The third-degree assault charge alleges Lester intentionally caused physical injury to another person.
All four charges stem from the June 14 incident in the town of Canton, according to the indictment.
