MALONE — Professional wrestling is set to return to the North Country when East Coast Pro Wrestling comes to the Franklin County Fair this summer.
Seven matches have been announced for the Aug. 5 event. Bell time is 7 p.m.
Headliner Tommy “The Innovator of Violence” Dreamer returns to the North Country, this time to square off with Afa Jr.
Dreamer has wrestled all over the area in recent years, with matches in Massena, Potsdam and Ogdensburg. The former champion has wrestled in WWE, AEW, TNA, and other major companies around the world.
Afa Jr. spent time in WWE in 2008 and wrestled under the name Manu.
He is the son of Wild Samona Afa, and a member of the Samoan wrestling dynasty that includes relations to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Roman Reigns, Yokozuna, Rikishi, The Usos, among others.
Fans will also get to see an over-the-top battle royal, and a tag team bout featuring “Good Ol’ Boys” Captain Pain and Bubba pitted against Drew Marston and Buddy Tomas.
Women’s wrestlers Tiphani Grady and The Puerto Rican Princess are also set to do battle.
Other announced matches include “Canadian Destroyer” Timothy Theory versus El Gato Negro, Prince Akkanatan squaring off with Gino Caruso and Timid Tamir taking on Mr. X.
Card is subject to change.
Tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 23 at frcofair.com .
Ringside and grandstand seating will be offered. Tickets are as low as $5 for children.
The show takes place at the fairgrounds, 606 East Main St.
