POTSDAM - Congresswoman Elise Stefanik has announced a key local endorsement from a Democratic Party aligned official in the Town of Potsdam.
Potsdam Town Supervisor Marty Miller, a Democrat, has endorsed Stefanik, the House Republican Chairwoman, for re-election in New York's 21st Congressional District.
"As the Supervisor of Potsdam, I look for strong leadership like that in Elise Stefanik. Elise is a great representative for our district who delivers for her constituents. I am happy to endorse her," Miller said in an endorsement announcement released by the Stefanik campaign.
The endorsement comes after Stefanik's call for Potsdam Town Board Member Christine Paige to resign over her disgraceful comment in which she said assassinating President Trump would be akin to putting down a "rabid dog."
Miller recently released a letter in which he was highly critical of Paige's statements, which she made on a Facebook post.
Miller, who ran for the town supervisor's seat as a Democrat, and for his town council seat before that as a Democrat as well, also works as the Massena village department of public works superintendent. Before that he worked for the county highway department.
