POTSDAM -- The Potsdam town board will hold its regular meeting Tuesday, June 11 at 5:30 p.m. and is expected to vote on summer highway repairs, among other issues.

The board will consider a resolution to approve summer road repairs using $251,205.83 in state funds that the town has received.

The proposed repairs include:

  • Blanchard Road from Baker Road intersection and leading to Hoadly Road a distance of 3000 ft there shall be expended not over the sum of $66,301.82 (POP FUNDS)
  • Sissonville Road from Sheehan Contracting and leading to Hewittville Road  a distance of 2000 ft, there shall be expended not over the sum of $42,060.00 (POP FUNDS)
  • Blanchard Road from Hoadly Road and leading to Morehouse Residence a distance of 1000 ft. there shall be expended not over the sum of $43,335.97  (POP FUNDS)
  • River Road from Crary’s residence and leading to Bigwarfe residence a distance of 4200 ft there shall be expended not over the sum of $99,508.04 (PAVE NY).

The board is also expected to schedule an informational meeting on the Route 56 water and sewer districts on June 20 at 6 p.m.

Public criticism from several district residents has been leveled at the town over continuing with the construction of the infrastructure to service the two districts due to what those residents say is the high cost of the work.

The board will also hear department head reports and reports from committee members and consider other town business that may come up.
