POTSDAM — Alisa G. Woods, PhD, LMHC, a licensed mental health counselor in Potsdam, is now offering trauma intensives for adults experiencing trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
“These structured, short-term intensives integrate evidence-based therapies, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), EFT (tapping), and sound therapy to support nervous system regulation and trauma recovery,” a press release from Woods said.
She said trauma Intensives consist of extended 1–2 hour sessions held two to three times per week for a defined period of time.
“This format allows clients to move through trauma work more efficiently than traditional once-weekly therapy, while maintaining safety and clinical support. Intensives may be ideal for individuals who want focused trauma treatment without committing to long-term weekly therapy,” she said.
Dr. Woods holds a PhD in Behavioral Neurobiology and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. In addition to her private practice, she serves as a Research Associate Professor at Clarkson University.
Trauma Intensives are available at her Potsdam office or online throughout the state.
