New York State Hunters for Conservation is once again incentivizing hunters to purchase lead free ammo by offering rebates.
All licensed deer hunters can receive up to $60 back when purchasing lead-free ammo, no matter how much is purchased, officials said.
As part of the program, hunters who spend at least $60 on qualifying lead-free ammo or reloading bullets, while those who spend less will receive the full amount in return.
Hunters just have to save photos of the receipt, current New York hunting tag and lead-free ammo packaging.
Hunters can then signup or login to HuntersForEagleConservation.org/new-york/rebate-form/ to upload the photos so the organization can verify eligibility.
Following those steps, hunters must fill out a post-hunt survey, at which time a rebate check will be sent electronically or in the mail.
