The route circumnavigates the lake with five required stops plus an additional optional stop where participants will receive a bonus card if they choose to paddle up river. Paddlers 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult, and the event is open to all non-motorized vessels. $10 Pre register through Aug. 12 at the village beach or by calling 315-244-9927. $15 Registration on the day of the event. Numerous prizes will be awarded based on poker hands.
There will be various family activities at the beach including Ty dying (kids bring a white tee shirt), numerous food vendors, live music (two local bands), a 50/50 raffle, and Norwood’s own Brass Firemen playing on the water during the event. The gates will open at 8 a.m.
The Lake Association is continuing the tradition of giving to a family in need again this year. Proceeds from the poker run will be given to the Hasenauer family whose 6th child Faith was born with a heart condition which requires extensive medical treatment and surgeries.
