NORWOOD — The Norwood-Norfolk Class of 1983 made a $5,000 donation to the Norwood-Norfolk Central School Snack Pack Program.

The class held their 40th reunion July 21-22 with a great turnout and to reconnect classmates, as well dance to the music of Double Axel.

The classmates were planning the reunion, so they decided to raise money for a local cause.

The Norwood-Norfolk Central School Snack Pack Program program commenced in 2012 with the support of the Kiwanis. The club was supporting 50 students when it began, and has grown to support over 200 students last school year. The program provides healthy food for weekends and long weekends for children, and they also have a presence at school if a child needs food.

“The fundraising was serious, fun and competitive for this cause,” said Tenley Amo, who was involved in organizing the event.

“We had several challenges from classmates to reach and surpass certain levels and they would match,” Amo said.

Some classmates that could not make the Reunion Weekend contributed as well.

“In the end we are Flyer Proud to have raised $5,177.00 to contribute to NNCS 2023-2024 Snack Pack Program,” Amo said.

The NNCS Class of 1983 poses a friendly Flyer challenge to all classes and alumni to continue to contribute or volunteer for this worthy program.
