GOUVERNEUR -- Community Health Center of the North Country has hired Dr. Nadhia Celestin to the team of physicians at their Gouverneur health center.
She specializes in family medicine, accepts patients of all ages, and is dedicated to providing patient centered care. She did her undergraduate work at Howard University, attended St. Georges University School of Medicine for graduate work, and completed postgraduate work along with a Family Practice Fellowship at the SUNY Health Science Center. She is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, and was first certified with the American Board of Family Medicine in 2005.
"Celestin is very passionate about volunteering in the community; so in addition to assisting her patients with their health while in the exam room, she plans on making a difference in her activities outside of work by strenghtening the community as a whole," according to a prepared statement from Gouverneur Hospital. "As a provider she looks forward to helping her patients have a better understanding of their overall health."
“The patient centered model is something I believe in strongly, and the most important part of that model is teamwork. Our group excels at that, and I couldn’t be happier than I am right now by serving the Gouverneur community with CHCNC," Celestin said in a prepared statement. "Every morning my alarm clocks goes off and blinks, this is the best job ever."
To schedule an appointment with Celestin, contact the Gouverneur health center, located on the lower level of Gouverneur Hospital, at 315-535-1300.
