CANTON – Nature's Storehouse and GardenShare are inviting customers to support the Bonus Bucks Program during the Thanksgiving season. Through Nov. 25, customers will be asked if they’d like to make a donation to GardenShare while checking out.
The Gratitude Through Giving fundraiser supports GardenShare's Bonus Buck Program, which offers a cost-sharing arrangement to income eligible St. Lawrence County residents to participate in a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) share or to purchase farmers market purchase cards redeemable at select St. Lawrence County farmers markets.
"GardenShare does more than help families afford fresh food. The farmers market brings people downtown. We see it in our own store, where Tuesday sales run about 12 percent above a typical weekday during market season. Hosting Gratitude for Giving at our registers is one way we can support the work GardenShare does for local farms, local families, and Main Street,” said Yen Maine, CEO of Nature’s Storehouse.
GardenShare works to promote a local food system that ensures food security for all St. Lawrence County residents. Learn more about their programs that support "Healthy Food, Healthy Farms, Everybody Eats" at www.GardenShare.org.
