POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Chamber of Commerce wishes to remind everyone that parking is free at metered spaces in downtown Potsdam until the end of the month.
But snow removal restrictions in some lots without meters will still be enforced and tickets will be issued to violators..
The Village of Potsdam passed a resolution on Nov. 11 to suspend meter collection until Dec. 31 during the Christmas shopping season.
Parking restriction remain in effect in lots without meters such as the Raymond Street lot.
“We appreciate the village’s continued support of our businesses,” stated chamber Executive Director Marylee Ballou, “I do wish to remind everyone that although parking is free, the handicap spots and all laws pertaining to use of them are still in effect. In order to allow for easier street plowing, we also recommend that street parking not be used as overnight parking. We have had mild weather so far, but may be seeing snow accumulation soon. ”
