MASSENA — Library patron appreciation day, New Horizon Swing Band, book and bake sale, local children’s authors and more will be offered at Massena Public Library from April 22-27 for National Library Week.
The library is hosting Patron Appreciation Day and Library Forgiveness Day on Monday, April 22. Stop in for free refreshments. Share a favorite library memory and outstanding fines for damaged or lost books will be forgiven.
Massena Library Giving Day will be held Tuesday, April 23, sponsored by Friends of the Massena Library. This is a one-day fundraising event. Donations collected will be used to purchase books for the children, teens and adult collections at Massena Public Library.
A Seaway Visitor Center Meet & Greet event will be held at the library Wednesday, April 24, at 6:30 pm, Catch up on the details of the Seaway Visitor Center’s Grand Opening scheduled in May.
"Party Girl", starring Parker Posey, is this month’s free ‘Friday Afternoon at the Movies’ held at the library Friday, April 26, at 1:00 p.m. A free drawing for two movie passes and free refreshments will be offered.
A variety of events are being offered on Saturday, April 27, for the final day of National Library Week. A book sale and bake sale will be held from 9:30 a.m - 12:30 p.m. A special Story Hour will be hosted by North Country Public Radio, "A Time for Tales,” at 10:00 a.m.and will include three local children’s authors. The New Horizons Swing Band will provide musical entertainment at 1:00 p.m.
Throughout the week, there will be raffles, including the patron-favorite
Lottery Tree, as well as themed baskets. Tickets are $2 for one or $5 for three!
Share your favorite book title on a Post-it to be entered into a drawing to win a
book of your choice! Finally, help put together a special book title puzzle and/or
guess as many of the book titles as you can. Turn in your answer sheet at the
circulation desk. Whoever gets the most correct book titles will win a puzzle.
