CHASE MILLS --Every season, Petals and Pecks has its own bloom.
Winter belongs to tulips, grown in a Chase Mills garage and sold under a simple promise: grown, not flown. Spring follows with early flowers from the hoop house, summer overflows with blooms of every color and shape, and fall settles in with pumpkins and wreath-making.
Marta Kowalski started the chemical-free flower farm at 5317 County Route 14, Chase Mills, in 2024, learning the land as she went.

North Country clay and short growing seasons are not forgiving, but she has met them with a USDA-approved high tunnel, new drainage, and plenty of patience. When the field runs short, she buys only from organic-minded farms.
Behind the scenes, it’s a family business through and through. Her partner, Andy, has put his muscle into the buildings and infrastructure, while her daughter, Mila, takes care of the hens and keeps the stand stocked with fresh eggs. Customers know the carton on the shelf was gathered by someone who knows each bird.
The stand carries fresh bouquets, farm eggs, the Milk House Candle Bar, and natural goods from neighbors like Tug Hill Coffee Roasters.
The season doesn’t stop at the roadside, either. Marta hosts wreath-making workshops and yoga-and-bouquet evenings, and next starting January she’s launching tulip subscriptions and wedding florals.
