Maple Weekend donation in DeKalb Junction

Posted

Orebed Sugar Shack of DeKalb Junction donated proceeds from face painting from Maple Weekends to benefit Camp Joy.

“We are pleased to announce that a partial campership will be offered to a camper with the kind donations received,” said Lori Jenners of Orebed Sugar Shack.

Camp Joy, located in Rush, has been serving adults 18 and over who are developmentally disabled for 43 years  The camp is run by all volunteer staff and located in Rush, just outside Rochester.

“A camper’s disability is not the focus at camp,” Jenness said. “Independence and ability are stressed with every program in which they participate.”

Camp Joy offers a variety of fully accessible activities for campers to choose from throughout the day, including: boating and fishing, rock wall, zip line, arts and crafts, swimming and more.
