Kevin J. Mousaw, 56, Colton

COLTON -- A Celebration of Life gathering for Kevin J. Mousaw, 56, a resident of Gulf Road, Colton, will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the Colton Amvets from 1-3 p.m.

Graveside services will be held in the springtime in Stark Cemetery, South Colton.

Kevin passed away Friday morning, January 19, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

Kevin is survived by his daughter, Madisyn L. Mousaw, and her fiancé, Keegan Dukett, Tupper Lake; his mother, Jane R. Mousaw, Colton; his five siblings, Peggy L. Mousaw and Andre Karl, Colton; Bonnie and James Emburey, Colton; Christopher Mousaw and Pam Tyo, St. Regis Falls; Bridget and Thomas Matthie, Colton and Karen Mousaw and Bob Denny, Port Richey, FL as well as his nieces and nephews, Levi Mousaw, Gregg and VickyJo Emburey, Thomas and Danielle Emburey, Devin and Leane Matthie, Garrett Messner and Marissa Messner and many friends and extended family members.

Kevin was pre-deceased by his father, Lee R. Mousaw.

Born in Potsdam, NY on June 14, 1967, to Lee R. and Jane R. Green Mousaw, Kevin graduated from Colton-Pierrepont Central School, Class of 1985 as well as Seaway Area Tech in Norwood.

A Marriage to Sonya Hassler on September 14, 1996, later ended in divorce.

Kevin worked in the construction field all his life, working for several contractors including Northeastern, Sheehan Construction, and Burns Brothers.

Most recently, Kevin worked as a Project Manager for the Laframboise Group LTD for the last 25 years, retiring in 2019.

He worked at several papermills throughout New York State as well as the United States.

He was a member of the Birch Brook Hunting Club as well as a member of the Millwrights Local 1163 for 37 years and the International Labor’s Union Local 322.

In his free time, Kevin enjoyed the outdoors – hunting and snowmobiling and loved to socialize and visit with people.

He will be missed by many, especially his most loyal friend and companion, his dog, Dudley.
