Kenneth D. Harrington, 84, Norfolk

NORFOLK -- Kenneth D. Harrington, age 84, passed away at his home on June 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance with the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena.

Friends and family may be received on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm at the Phillips Memorial Home.

Burial will take place in Hillcrest Cemetery in Heuvelton, with full Military Honors at the convenience of the family.

Born the son of Wilbur and Evelyn (Goodison) Harrington in Ogdensburg, NY on June 9, 1939.

He attended Heuvelton High School and graduated in 1957. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1964.

Ken started work at Alcoa, he retired as a millwright on February 1, 2002, after 36 years and one month of devoted service.

Ken was married to Lindalu LaFlair on October 16, 1962, in Heuvelton, that later ended in divorce.

Ken was an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and four wheeling and being in the great outdoors.

He was a member of Spruce Mountain Club in Cranberry Lake. He would spend his pastime golfing at the Raymondville Golf Course and visiting family in the Carolinas.

He was a hands-on type of man and was very mechanically inclined and had the tool collection to show for it.

Overall else, Ken cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.

Ken is survived by his companion of many years, Shirley St. Thomas; his loving children, Kaylene and husband, Joel Dupree of Massena, NY, Natalie Brailsford of Louisville, NY, and David and wife, Dawn of Moyock, NC.

He is also survived by his loving grandchildren: Jayden and wife Jaclyn Pernice, Cody and Nolan Pernice, Kaleb and wife Katelyn Brailsford, Laurel and Kenneth Harrington; along with great grandchildren, Declan, River, and Meadow Pernice and Krislynn and Kolton Brailsford.

In addition to his parents, Ken was predeceased by his brother, William “Bill” Harrington and grandson, Justin Brailsford.
