Hazy Lazy Days of Colton

COLTON — The Town of Colton will host its annual community celebration, the Hazy Lazy Days of Colton, on Saturday, July 27 and Sunday July 28.

Pancakes, parades, flea market, food, drink, cornhole, live music and fireworks will all be part of the two-day community event.

A pancake breakfast and craft show will kick off the day Saturday, July 27 at the Colton Community Church, 11 Church St., beginning at 8 a.m.

Pancakes will be served until 11 a.m. Costs are adults $10, and kids under 12 $5; younger than 5 eat for free.

The craft show will feature homemade items and an assortment of crafts including: sweaters, quilts, wreaths, cozies, soaps, totes and bags, dish cloths, shawls, table runners, wood burnt plaques and more.

The craft show concludes at 1 p.m.

A community parade steps off starting at 10 a.m.

The parade will start at the trailhead on Cold Brooke Drive and end at Sugar Bush Lane at Swift Field.

All are welcome to join in the procession.

The following events will take place from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Swift Field, 14 Sugarbush Lane:

  • Flea market, crafts and vendors under the Pavilion;
  • Food and drinks will be available from Baker’s Sizzling Grill;
  • Corn hole tournament sponsored by Robideau’s Mahogany Ridge Bar and Grill; and a
  • Waterslide.

The bridge portion of Main Street will be blocked off on Saturday, July 27th, starting at noon, for the annual block party hosted by the Raquette River Pub. There will be games, a beer tent and live music outside throughout the day. The headliner band Into the Black starts their set at 8 p.m. inside the pub.

The Colton Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a chicken barbecue at the station at 80 Riverside Drive starting at 11 a.m.

The menu includes a half chicken, salt potatoes, baked beans, roll and a cookie. Cost is $15 for adults and $12 for seniors. Full meals only will be available.

The barbecue is take-out only.
