POTSDAM — SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will welcome back five recent graduates for a special guitar alumni recital on Saturday, April 27 at 3 p.m., in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater. The event will honor Professor of Classical Guitar Dr. Douglas Rubio upon his retirement. Performers include Brian Dooley '17, Brendon Grabowski '16, Andrew Marino '12, Lynn McGrath '00 and Tom Torrisi '09. Fellow Crane alumnus and luthier Chad Gillander '04, who is fast becoming known as a maker of fine steel-string acoustic guitars, will also attend. Dooley will perform on one of Gillander's handmade instruments. Free, and the public is invited to attend. This performance will be broadcast live on the Crane School of Music YouTube channel at the concert time.
