POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Chamber is reminding the public that parking is free in downtown Potsdam until the end of the month.
The Village of Potsdam passed a resolution Nov. 11 to suspend meter collection until Dec. 31 during the Christmas shopping season.
“We appreciate the village’s continued support of our businesses,” chamber executive director Marylee Ballou said in a news release. “I do wish to remind everyone that although parking is free, the handicap spots and all laws pertaining to use of them are still in effect. In order to allow for easier street plowing, we also recommend that street parking not be used as overnight parking. We have had mild weather so far, but may be seeing snow accumulation soon.”
