North Country This Week
MASSENA — Disgraced former Massena Police officer Brandon Huckle has hired a new attorney to represent him in his felony criminal mischief case.
The felony charges stem from an incident in March 2021, during which Huckle was caught on a security camera purposely striking a vehicle with an interior garage door while serving a warrant.
Attorney Ed Narrow will now represent Huckle, having signed on to represent him on Monday, April 18, Franklin County District Attorney Jonathan Miller confirmed.
“We will have to review the discovery evidence and assess Brandon’s options before we proceed forward. So, I suspect we will have a court appearance next month after the hearing is adjourned tonight (April 20),” Narrow said.
Narrow recently represented St. Lawrence County Legislator Tony Arquiett in a DWI and criminal possession case stemming from a head on collision that occurred in the town of Bombay in December.
Huckle previously appeared in Louisville town court on Jan. 19.
District Attorney Miller confirmed that a plea deal that was on the table in January still stands for Huckle.
“Since he (Huckle) has hired a new attorney, I’m sure they will take their time in assessing the offer and will act in the best interest of Mr. Huckle. As far as we are concerned, the offer still stands and we will just have to wait to hear from his attorney,” Miller said.
Huckle was expected to appear in court on April 20, however Narrow requested an adjournment of the hearing to prepare and review the file, Miller said.
Miller also said he expects a new court date will be established soon, with Huckle expected to make an appearance in a month or so.
