PIERCEFIELD -- New York State Police were notified about a missing hiker on the Mount Arab trail on Sept. 4, leading to a search that also involved Forest Rangers.
According to police, the notification of the missing hiker came in around 10 p.m. after the hiker's companion informed police the two had been separated on the way down the trail.
At 11:15 p.m., police say Ranger Corey located the missing 45-year-old from Croghan, with Rangers Corey and Ellis assisting the subject to an ambulance at the trailhead, according to police.
Piercefield EMS warmed the subject and released her back to her hiking partner.
Resources were clear at 12:32 a.m., police say.
