OGDENSBURG -- City police report five people have been arrested as part of three separate narcotics investigations, one of which involved an active meth lab in the Riverview Towers highrise.

On Thursday, June 4, police say they responded to the highrise after the Ogdensburg Housing Authority reported to them a possible active meth lab in an apartment there.

Police say they responded and found an active one-pot meth lab. New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team helped them with the scene.

That led to charges against two people. Jonathan P. Whalen, 37, of Riverview Towers was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, both felonies. Regina A.M. Pribble, 28, of State Highway 812, Ogdensburg was arrested and charged with those offenses also, police said.

They were both remanded by Judge Michael Gebo and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton, without bail, police said.

On Wednesday, June 3, city police say they executed a search warrant at 127 Old State Road in Rensselaer Falls. They say they found “multiple dry, one-pot methamphetamine labs, lab components, as well as methamphetamine product.”

That led to charges against James R. McLean, 36, who resides there. He was charged with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Krystal M. Hart, 29, who also lives at that address, was charged with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine.

Conrad A. Larock, 37, of Belmont Courts, Ogdensburg was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic needle, both misdemeanors, police said.

McLean was arraigned and released under probationary supervision. Hart was arraigned and released on her own recognizance. Larock was issued an appearance ticket, police said.

On Friday, May 22, city police say they arrested an Ogdensburg man for allegedly selling drugs. Investigators say they encountered him while investigating a complaint of alleged narcotics foot and vehicular traffic in the area of the arrest.

Police say they arrested Sean T. Young, 36, of Ogdensburg in the 500 block of LaFayette Street and charged him with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony. He was allegedly found with crack cocaine packaged for sale.

He was arraigned by Judge Gebo and remanded to the county jail without bail, police said, adding that there is an ongoing investigation and “further charges are likely.”

City police were assisted by New York state parole officers.
