POTSDAM -- Cinema 10 continues its Fall 2026 season on Monday, Oct. 19 with a screening of Fiume o Morte!, a 2025 film from Croatia, Italy, and Slovenia directed by Igor Bezinović.
Using actual residents who live in present-day Rijeka (which Italians call Fiume), Fiume o Morte! is a comedic docudrama that recounts the occupation of the Italian city by poet and nationalist, Gabriele D’Annunzio.
Director Igor Bezinović weaves together archival footage and modern recreations to create a portrait of a city in turmoil, one whose history looms large today.
For Screen Daily, Wendy Ide wrote, “it’s a gloriously punk spin on the historical documentary genre, channeling the humour and rebellious spirit of a people who have been part of ‘eight or nine different countries’ during the 20th century… but who have managed to maintain their own distinct identity nonetheless.”
Films are shown on Monday evenings at 7:15 p.m. in the Roxy Theater in Potsdam.
Tickets are $6.50 general / $55 sharable season or $5.50 student/senior / $45 sharable season (special prices for The Rocky Horror Picture Show.)
