He is predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Janet; his daughter, Lisa Rand; his son, Richard Paul Sellers; his son-in-law, William Rafferty, his brothers, Roy, Pete, Ronnie, and Thomas (TJ) Sellers, his sisters, Vivian Sharpe, Jean Ford, Ethel Anderson, Patricia Wells and Barbara Sellers; his half sister, Paula McMahon, his step sister, Vaughn Morley and step brother, Lynn Thornhill.

Earl was born on June 29, 1936 in Potsdam, NY, the son of Earl and Ethel (Wells) Sellers, Sr.

He attended George Hall Trade School.

He married his wife of 65 years, Janet LaFave on November 11, 1955, at Notre Dame Church with Monsignor Charbonneau officiating.

He made many friends through the years of employment at Shade Roller, Harry Wells Construction, Oscars Restaurant, and Hacketts Hardware from where he retired. He always took pride in being a hard worker no matter what job he had.

Chub was an amazing human being who touched the lives of all that he met with his warm smile and friendly personality. In all his years on this earth we never heard a bad word spoken about him.

He always made his wife and children the main priority in his life and always worked very hard to provide for them every day. He treasured his grandchildren and great grandchildren and spent as much time as he possibly could building wonderful memories, they can hang on to forever.

Papa will always have a special place in all their hearts and memories. Along with his wife he always taught his children the importance of appreciating and being thankful for the love of family. For that reason, his children have always treasured each other and find comfort knowing they are there for each other every day.

He always bragged about his wonderful children and the pride he had in each of them to which they would let him know it was because of him and their mother. He taught his children about honesty, honor, integrity, hard work, love of family and kindness towards others.

His wife was the love of his life and even when her illness caused her to not recognize him as her husband, he still gave her an anniversary card on their 65th anniversary something he never failed to do all their married life. Her loss was devastating to him every day. They were both amazing parents to their children who intend to honor them both by living their lives every day to make them proud.

Chub’s family would like to thank Dr. Zachary Mashaw, the Medical Staff at Albany Medical Center, the Medical Staff at Hepburn Hospital, and the Hospice staff who made caring for him at home so much easier.

Donations may be made in Chub’s memory to the Richard E. Winter Cancer Treatment Center, 5 Lyon Place, Ogdensburg, NY 13669 and the Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club, PO BOX 555, 610 Paterson Street, Ogdensburg, NY 13669.
