POTSDAM – Brittany DiSalvo, OTD, OTR/L has been promoted from clinical assistant professor to clinical associate professor of occupational therapy in the Earl R. and Barbara D. Lewis School of Health Sciences.

DiSalvo came to Clarkson in 2017. She received her post-professional doctorate in occupational therapy from Chatham University and both her bachelor of science degree in occupational science and her master of science in occupational therapy from Keuka College.

She has more than 10 years of clinical experience working in multiple clinical settings. Most of DiSalvo’s clinical practice is grounded in the older adult population with the first half of her career spent in skilled nursing facilities, including two travel therapy contracts that brought her to Texas and the southern tier of New York.

DiSalvo’s research has focused on exploring effective stress management strategies for first-year occupational therapy students and enhancing students' engagement in interprofessional collaboration within the academic setting. In addition to her academic work, DiSalvo continues her clinical practice in the local community in both the inpatient hospital and outpatient clinical settings. DiSalvo recently obtained her Vestibular Rehabilitation & Concussion certification in 2022 through the American Institute of Balance. She is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and the New York State Occupational Therapy Association.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her family and two dogs.
