He proudly volunteered in 1949 to serve in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, until his honorable discharge in 1952. David came from a generation of honest hard-working men; even as a boy being “farmed out “to help supplement his parent’s income and support his siblings. He worked at the Regan Farm and for Elliott Farming.

He worked on the St. Lawrence Seaway Project as a concrete foreman, and for the Massena Glass Company; prior to going into the logging industry. He logged for Gordon Bailey and Diamond International before owning and operating his own logging business working alongside with both his sons.

He enjoyed hours of building 1000-piece puzzles, going to the casino to play his favorite slot machine Triple Lucky, and eating banana splits at Dairy Queen! He cherished his time with his family and especially his grandchildren often singing a tune; Hey, Good Lookin’ and That Lucky Old Sun!

David is survived by his five children, Katherine Robertson of Massena; Diana (David) MacWilliams of Parishville; Priscilla (Arnold) Stark of Potsdam; Steven (Tonya) Bartlett of Potsdam and David (Janet) Bartlett, Jr. of Colton; 14 Grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, two brother in laws John (Linda) Bartlett of Potsdam and Keith ( Susie) Bartlett of Portageville NY and many nieces, nephews and cousins!
