Countywide Trunk or Treat

CANTON -- St. Lawrence County Government and the Youth Bureau are inviting families, community organizations, local programs, businesses, and students to join in a Countywide Trunk or Treat on Friday, Oct. 30, from 5–7 p.m. at the Human Services Building, 80 State Highway 310 in Canton. Family-friendly event will combine Halloween fun with an opportunity for residents to meet some of the people, departments, organizations, and programs that serve communities throughout St. Lawrence County. Families and children are warmly invited to dress in costume and enjoy a spooktacular evening of decorated vehicles, treats, community activities, and Halloween fun. County departments will be joining the festivities, with the St. Lawrence County Highway Department planning to bring one of its large snowplows for children to see up close. Families may even receive a surprise visit from the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and K-9 Knowlton. Weather permitting, activities will be held primarily outside in the Human Services Building parking lot. Indoor space will also be available, allowing the celebration to continue should October weather bring rain, or even an early North Country snowfall. Organizations, programs, businesses, school groups, or individuals interested in hosting a decorated trunk or table, creating decorations, or volunteering should contact Alexa Backus Chase at AChase@stlawco.gov or the St. Lawrence County Youth Bureau at 315-379-9464.
