OGDENSBURG — Community leaders, healthcare workers, and residents are rallying to send a unified message of support for local medical services and to underscore their opposition to any reduction in regional care access.
A community-wide rally is scheduled for April 25 from 1–3 p.m. at Lockwood Arena, 141 West River St.
Residents who have received care at Hepburn Hospital, Carthage Hospital, the Richard E. Winter Cancer Center, or the Dr. Agarwal Renal Center, or who support the continued presence of these facilities in the community, are encouraged to attend to demonstrate their support to state and court officials.
Scheduled speakers include Assemblyman Scott Gray; Deputy Mayor Jennifer Stevenson; a Hepburn retiree; representatives from the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and the New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA); Ron McDougall, mayor of Gouverneur; and the past president of the Jefferson, Lewis & St. Lawrence Counties Central Trades and Labor Council.
Community members are encouraged to attend in support.
